Bar peeling is a process to remove oxide scale, mill scale and surface defects such as cracks from hot-rolled and forged bars. Compared with conventional turning, bar peeling is a machining process with high productivity and low tolerances due to the shorter production time. On top of that, this process results in higher dimensional tolerances and surface quality and consequently eliminates subsequent processes.
